Desaquin is a joint health supplement for dogs and cats that goes beyond standard glucosamine supplements. It contains NMX1000 avocado/soybean unsaponifiables (ASU), decaffeinated tea polyphenois, FCHG49 glucosamine hydrochloride, and TRH122 low molecular weight chondroitin sulfate in a tasty chewable tablet. It is the most complete joint support supplement available.
 
Dasuquin is available in a formula with and without MSM (methylsulfonylmethane).

Dasuquin is new breed of Joint Health supplement in a tasty chewable tablet form from Nutramax Labs. The combination of trade marked FCHG49 Glucosamine hydrochloride and TRH122 low molecular weight chondroitin sulphate supports cartilage production and helps block enzymes in joints that break down cartilage. These ingredients together have shown in published studies to protect joint cartilage better than either ingredient alone. Dasuquin for dogs is available in two different strengths because one size does not fit all dogs. Dasuquin for Small to Medium Dogs has been optimized for dogs under 60 pounds.
Dasuquin for Large Dogs contains a formula optimized for dogs 60 pounds and over.
Both formulations are packaged in 84 count and 150 count bottles. The 84 count size is a convenient size for use during the initial 4-6 week loading period, while the 150 count economy size is more cost-effective and is ideal for long-term use.
 

Are There Any Safety Concerns With Desuquin:
While sensitivity to avocados has been reported in a few dogs, taking Dasuquin tablets is not the same as eating whole avocados. The ASU in Dasuquin has been evaluated in a safety study in dogs, and no adverse effects were noted from administration. There are no known contraindications or known interactions between Dasuquin and any drug or nutritional supplement.
 
Directions For Use:
Dasuquin chewable tablets can be given as a treat or crumbled and mixed with food according to directions.
 
For the initial 4 to 6 week administration period for dogs and cats, administer as follows:
For cats weighing less than 10 lbs give 1 capsule sprinkled on food daily.
For cats weighting 10 lbs and over give 2 capsules sprinkled on food daily.
For dogs weighing less than 10 lbs give 1/2 chewable tablet daily.
For dogs weighing 10 to 29 lbs give 1 chewable tablet daily.
For dogs 30-59 lbs give 2 chewable tablets daily.
For dogs 60-120 lbs give 2 chewable tablets daily.
 
Allow 4-6 weeks initially to note a response, though some dogs may respond sooner. Once a response is seen, the number of tablets my be reduced to the level that keeps your pet comfortable. When lowering the number of tablets, observe your pet closely. If your pet's comfort level appears to decrease, the initial administration amount should be resumed for an additional 2-4 weeks before trying a maintenance level again. Once consistent improvement at the maintenance level has been seen, administration my be further reduced to every other day. An individual pet's needs may vary. Pets on a maintenance level can be increased back to the initial level at any time as needed, e.g., on weekends or other times when they are more active, to provide extra support to the joints.
