Are There Any Safety Concerns With Dasuquin:
While sensitivity to avocados has been reported in a few dogs, taking Dasuquin tablets is not the same as eating whole avocados. The ASU in Dasuquin has been evaluated in a safety study in dogs, and no adverse effects were noted from administration. There are no known contraindications or known interactions between Dasuquin and any drug or nutritional supplement.
Directions For Use:
For the initial 4 to 6 week administration period for dogs, administer as follows:
For dogs 60-120 lbs give 2 soft chews daily.
Suggested maintenance level
For dogs 60-120 lbs give 1 soft chew daily.
Allow 4-6 weeks initially to note a response, though some dogs may respond sooner. Once a response is seen, the number of tablets my be reduced to the level that keeps your pet comfortable. When lowering the number of tablets, observe your pet closely. If your pet's comfort level appears to decrease, the initial administration amount should be resumed for an additional 2-4 weeks before trying a maintenance level again. Once consistent improvement at the maintenance level has been seen, administration my be further reduced to every other day. An individual pet's needs may vary. Pets on a maintenance level can be increased back to the initial level at any time as needed, e.g., on weekends or other times when they are more active, to provide extra support to the joints.
